Parade, fireworks mark Independence Day Hillsdale Daily News HILLSDALE — The second annual Patriot's Parade kicked off Independence Day celebrations in Hillsdale Saturday led by a joint Honor Guard comprised of veterans from the Hillsdale, Jonesville and Reading American Legion Posts. Organized by the Hillsdale County Republican Party, the parade began at North Street and Howell Street and made its way through downtown featuring fire trucks, floats, horses and drawn carriages, tractors and Shriner's on their mini-bikes. Following the parade, at dark, vivid colors filled the sky as the Light Up the Sky fireworks show, part of the typical Great American Celebration, got underway at the Hillsdale County Fairgrounds.
