The treatment of a grandad from Maybush who died following a fall would have been different had the paramedic assessing him been aware he was on medication which worsens internal bleeding, an inquest heard. On March 16 last year, Glyndwr Williams, 74, fell and hit his head on concrete at Ridon Joinery where he worked as a handyman. After the fall, Mr Williams – who took blood-thinning medication for high blood pressure - went to Royal South Hants Hospital. He was seen by Mark Turner, an emergency medical practitioner with 21 years' experience, who noted that Mr Williams passed the required physical and cognitive tests designed to assess brain injury and discharged him.
