The recommendation follows six reports of a correlated blood-clotting disorder. It is currently the only vaccine available through the PWHC, said Zac Brown, assistant director of communications for the health center. PWHC officials contacted those scheduled to receive vaccinations today and tomorrow to let them know that their appointment was canceled because of the recommendations from the FDA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Brown said. âItâs still kind of really early (and) we donât have a whole lot of info; this was obviously a prevention precursor that the CDC and FDA wanted to take a closer look at,â Brown said. âHopefully, once they meet tomorrow weâll have a lot more information to kind of figure out what the next steps are.â
