Jason Getz The Peachtree Road Race, the world’s largest 10K road race, is held every Fourth of July in Atlanta, Georgia. Hosted by the Atlanta Track Club, the race draws thousands of spectators and volunteers who come out each year to support the runners—all 60,000 of them, in non-pandemic times. “The race is known here locally as the place where Atlanta celebrates the Fourth of July,” Atlanta Track Club executive director Rich Kenah told Runner’s World. “It’s much more than a running event. It’s an opportunity for Atlanta to come together. It’s Atlanta’s finest day.”
