PEF president Wayne Spence re-elected PUBLISHED 5:44 AM ET May. 06, 2021 PUBLISHED 5:44 AM EDT May. 06, 2021 SHARE Public Employees Federation President Wayne Spence was re-elected to another three-year term, the labor group on Wednesday announced. Spence was first elected in June 2015 to lead the state's second-largest public workers union of mostly white-collar employees in New York. In the last year, Spence has raised the challenges facing state workers returning to the office amid the pandemic, including last year when there was a surge of new positive cases. Spence's re-election to a third term came alongside his slate of preferred officer candidates; his new term begins in August.
