Pennsylvania State Capital Bureau Following the requirement being suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic, Pennsylvanians collecting unemployment compensation will once again have to look for work starting in July, state acting Labor & Industry Secretary Jennifer Berrier said during a legislative committee meeting on Monday. The requirement, suspended under Gov. Tom Wolf's emergency declaration, would be "turned on" July 18, Berrier told the House Labor & Industry Committee, which means claimants would have to begin looking for work the previous week of July 11. Berrier said her department timed the re-implementation of the work search requirement so it would not conflict with the new online unemployment compensation system being installed next month.
