Peoria bridge didn't have patriotic lights for Fourth of Jul

PEORIA —  Quick quiz: what colors do you think lighted up the Murray Baker Bridge last weekend?
Did you guess the hues of Old Glory? That would've made sense. You know, for that holiday — whatchamacallit? Oh, yeah: Independence Day.  
But last weekend, the bridge wasn't red, white and blue.
It was white, white and white.
Those are the plain, ol' colors for any plain, ol' day. 
Why? The city forgot about the Fourth of July.
"It was an unfortunate oversight," city manager Patrick Urich told me. "One person has the ability to make the change, and the lights were not programmed for the weekend."
