PETERSBURG — Projects driven by the area's two colleges to advance manufacturing and engineering education are among 15 initiatives statewide that will share $6.3 million in new state grants, the governor's office announced Friday.
The Federation of Advanced Manufacturing Education [FAME] at Richard Bland College will receive $613,000, and the Engineering Interns + Manufacturers = Success Squared (S2) program through Virginia State University will receive $39,200 from Growth and Opportunity for Virginia. GO Virginia is a business collaboration created to spark private-sector growth by providing monetary incentives for regional partnerships.
