Not long after, a photo emerged online of a rubble pile alongside a claim that it showed the historical Larabanga mosque after it purportedly fell to the ground following years of government neglect. But an official at the Larabanga mosque told AFP Fact Check the claim is false, confirming the mud-and-wood structure remains intact. A search on Google Maps found that the image actually shows
