Now in its 28th year, hundreds of community members gathered on Saturday night under a giant Christmas tree adorned with decorations made by locals. Mackay City Band, Mackay Ukulele Group and 2tone played Christmas tunes. There was even a visit from Santa himself. The event was hosted by the Habana Carols Under the Stars Committee - a subcommittee of the Habana and District Progress Association.  Committee chair Peter Bonaventura said while there were some slight changes to the event because of COVID restrictions, the community came together to show their support.
