ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has appointed Jawad Paul as registrar of the Supreme Court. Mr Paul is currently posted as additional secretary at the Prime Minister Office and takes care of matters involving civil bureaucracy, etc. He is a BS-21 officer but has been appointed to the BS-22 post of SC registrar under Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act, 1973. Under the law, the competent authority can appoint an officer to a post that’s in the next grade. The Supreme Court has requisitioned Mr Paul’s services since incumbent SC registrar retired flight lieutenant Khawaja Daud Ahmad is attaining the age of superannuation on July 31.
