Poelcher named December Student of Month Beaver County Times GREENE TWP. – Victoria Poelcher, a senior at South Side High School, was selected as December Student of the Month by the South Side Education Association. The daughter of Tracy Hopkins of Georgetown and George Poelcher of Hookstown, she has been involved in marching band, Pennsylvania Academy of Science Club, Quiz Bowl, Academic Games, National Honor Society and the Euro Challenge. Poelcher was named to the Distinguished Honor Roll throughout high school and the homecoming queen. She won the outstanding chemistry award from Slippery Rock University and placed first and second in the PA Junior Academy of Science Competition at Slippery Rock and Penn State.
