CHURCH WELLS, Kane County — Kane County Sheriff's Office announced late Tuesday that it has made an arrest for the murder of Matthew Wayne Young, 49, of Church Wells. Kane County Sheriff's Office detectives, in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Jason Thomas Bates, 38, in Flagstaff, Arizona on Monday. According to a press release, Bates was charged on suspicion of first-degree murder; two counts of first-degree felony discharge of a firearm with serious bodily injury; second-degree felony aggravated assault and third-degree felony possession of a firearm by a restricted person.
