Date Time Police lay charges over home invasion as inquiries continue into Emu Plains fatal stabbing Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man over an alleged home invasion as part of ongoing inquiries into the fatal stabbing of a man in Sydney’s west earlier this year. About 8am on Thursday 24 September 2020, emergency services were called to a reserve on Russell Street at Emu Plains, after the body of a man had been located. He has since been formally identified as a 22-year-old Minchinbury man. A vehicle found crashed nearby was seized for forensic examination. Detectives from Nepean Police Area Command and the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad established Strike Force Mathinna to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
