Port of Tyne A PORT is taking further step to ensure its carbon neutrality goal is reached on time. Electric cranes will be among the low carbon technologies adopted by the Port of Tyne, as it works with UK Power Networks Services to begin its journey to decarbonisation through electrification. As one of the UK’s most innovative and efficient deep-sea ports, Port of Tyne has developed a decarbonisation roadmap, with an ambition to electrify the entire port by 2040 and to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions to zero by 2030. Port of Tyne has recently completed a detailed modelling exercise and long-term analysis of its electricity network.
