Newport Daily News PORTSMOUTH — A Portsmouth teacher has joined a team of educators to create a student guide for the Library of Congress, the nonprofit organization National History Day announced recently. Samantha Hedden, a middle school teacher at St. Philomena School, is one of just 15 educators nationwide chosen to create guides for students to learn about the Library of Congress as a research tool. The guides are a collaborative effort between the Library and National History Day, which aims to improve the teaching and learning of history.
