The Power Of Black Identity Photography competition, held in partnership with Nikon, has been won by Karis Beaumont. Her entry project, entitled ‘Bumpkin Files,’ looks to represent Black life in Britain beyond the conventional London-centric narrative, and showcases diversity across other leading cities such as Cardiff and Leeds (selected images below).
She will have her photographs showcased at The Power Of_ festival at Lambeth Town Hall from June 12-13th, which celebrates the very best of Black British identity.
Beaumont also receives £6,000 in camera equipment, one-to-one sessions at the Nikon School and expert mentoring, while her images will be displayed on billboards across central London, courtesy of Jack agency.
