'Appalling': Growing fury over court crash sentence : vimars

A CHORUS of Far North victims, politicians and even a one-time offender are leading a renewed call for a "complete overhaul" of the juvenile justice system in the wake of a double fatality crash.
Community fury is surging over the sentence handed down to a 17-year-old driver who dodged serving any jail time for a horrific crash which killed young and beloved local couple Lauren Quabba, 16, and Evan Fielder, 19 in October 2019.
Ms Quabba's father Rodney spoke out after the Townsville boy's sentencing earlier this month to demand action and said the offender's three-month conditional release order flew in the face of logic.
