CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – With spring closing in, NDSU Extension Service Ag & Natural Resource Agent Jeff Gale says now is a good time to test your soil.
Before beginning to plant, knowing your dirt is usually the first place to start according to Gale.
NDSU Extension provides tools and tests needed for soil testing with the NDSU Soil Testing Lab available year-round. The routine soil check, which is recommended for lawns and gardens, includes testing for nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), pH, soluble salt and organic matter.
Gale says another great source of information for lawn and garden is the upcoming Spring Fever Garden Forums beginning March 22nd and running through April 12th. He says these will be shown at the Carrington City Library virtually and are available to everyone.
