The day of mourning began at 11am before a short funeral procession.
The ceremonial service begins at 3pm and a national minute's silence will be held before the start of proceedings.
The Dean of Windsor, together with the Archbishop of Canterbury, will then receive the coffin at the top of the West Steps.
