SCHOOL pupils across West Yorkshire are being encouraged to stay on the 'right path' with the help of a project led by the Leeds United Foundation. Funded through the West Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit (VRU), the Positive Choices project aims to deter young people away from violence and crime. As part of the project, a video recording has been created containing personal messages from "top sports personalities", leaders say, as well as from people who have been victims of violent crime. Delivered across the county’s schools in a series of sessions, it covers a number of important issues, including knife crime, drugs, gang affiliation and "negative relationships".
