Photo credit: Rui Vieira/PA Wire Copeland Borough Council will decide on proposals for a number of alternative polling stations for the upcoming local elections, suggested either due to safety issues or to prevent "further disruption" to school education. Local elections are set to take place across the country on May 6. In Copeland, this will mean elections for the office of Police and Crime Commissioner, a borough council by-election for the Whitehaven Central ward, and potentially county council elections as well. However, in light of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, a number of locations normally used as polling stations have been suggested as unsuitable, and alternatives have been proposed.
