Prosecutors not 'mute' as judge cuts drug-dealing sentence MUNCIE, Ind. — A Muncie man convicted of dealing in cocaine two years ago has been granted an early release from prison. Ralph Jacob Evans, now 45, was sentenced to six years in prison in February 2019. Under the terms of a plea agreement, 11 other charges — including five counts of neglect of a dependent — were dismissed. Defense attorney Jack Quirk filed a motion in late January asking that the remainder of Evans' sentence be suspended, giving the Muncie man "an opportunity to reconstruct his life to be a lawful worthwhile citizen and productive member of society."
