ENVIRONMENTAL campaigners in masks protested in strong winds on Saturday against the clearance of bushes among active badger setts for a controversial housing development in Warminster. Locals stood along the Smallbrook Road near to the footpath that leads up to the proposed Damask Way housing development to highlight the clearance taking place amongst active badger setts. They donned badger masks to highlight that the clearance should not be taking place during nest-building time for the badgers. Clare Hancock, of local environmental campaign group Sustainable Warminster, said: "We wanted to show our concern about the terrible disturbance on Damask Field of active badger setts. This should not be happening between December and June.
