Public hearing set for Ellsworth bike/ped path extension ELLSWORTH — Plans first proposed in January to extend the Ellsworth Pedestrian/Bike Trail from where it ends at Birch Avenue to Beals Avenue will be the subject of a public hearing on Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held via Zoom, with directions for logging on available at ellsworth.maine.gov/notices. Anne and Chauncey Bancroft are regular walkers on Spring Street and the nearby Ellsworth Pedestrian/Bicycle Trail. A proposed trail extension would continue the Ellsworth trail over the railroad crossing at Birch Avenue and down Spring Street to Beals Avenue.
