Public unveiling planned for Genesee County Sheriff’s education facility Updated 8:00 AM; Facebook Share FLINT, MI -- The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is set to hold a public unveiling this week of its new education facility for former Genesee County Jail inmates with a felony on record. The unveiling will be held at 5601 North Saginaw Street during Sheriff Chris Swanson’s 1 p.m. weekly news conference on Wednesday, April 21. The new facility is an expansion of the department’s IGNITE program, which aims to break the cycle of generational incarceration negatively affecting families and communities. The program is made possible in partnership with Mt. Morris Consolidated Schools.
