Public urged to follow rules

MEMBERS of Norton Town Council have urged people to adhere to the current rules around Covid-19.
At their monthly meeting, councillors said that with more shops and workplaces open than in the first lockdown, there were more people moving around in the community.
Mayor Cllr Antony Croser, said: "As a result it was felt that there is a need to re-emphasise messaging around the part the public have to play in combating the spread of the virus, especially around mask wearing in shops and social distancing in general.
"Ryedale has experienced fluctuating rates of infection in recent weeks whilst neighbouring districts have had continual falls. Residents of the town have been infected and the seriousness of the situation hits home harder when you can put names to cases. There would appear to be no way of knowing what impact catching the virus has on any one of us. The NHS is under immense strain and there are implications for all of us so everyone must be vigilant and follow the rules.
