George Russell thought he had got “the maximum” achievement possible with a Q2 appearance at the Monaco Grand Prix – the Williams team’s 750th F1 race.
We have come to fully expect seeing ‘Mr Saturday’ in the second part of qualifying and the next target for Russell is naturally to make it through to Q3 for the first time in a Williams.
He got especially close to doing so in Portugal two races ago, starting 11th, but on the Monte Carlo streets 15th was all the Briton could accomplish at a venue that exposed his car’s “weakness”.
