An earthquake of magnitude 4.5 occurred only 25 minutes ago 68 km southeast of Funchal, Portugal, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported.
The quake hit at a moderately shallow depth of 40 km beneath the epicenter near Funchal, Funchal Municipality, Madeira, Portugal, early morning on Thursday 4 March 2021 at 6:14 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
