Tweet Share The output of Quichenight jefe Brett Rosenberg’s output has been nothing short of astounding since the pandemic began almost a year ago. He released six albums in 2020, delving heavily into synth territory as he made nods to classic rock and ’80s prog. “Helluva Grill” from Continue to Cook, released in November, follows this sonic theme with the addition of jangly, melodic psych-pop guitar, which oscillates over a funky bass line and steady, no-frills drum beat. “Musically, the idea was to make a long-ish track with a single groove,” Rosenberg says in an email, “and some over-engineered imitation mandolin (eight out-of-tune Fender Stratocasters).”
