Quinns Beach groyne project complete May 11, 2021, by Zlatan Hrvacevic Quinns Beach is better placed to handle storm events this winter, following the completion of a groyne upgrade to help prevent erosion and damage to roads and community infrastructure. The upgraded groyne will assist in retaining the recently replenished sand on Quinns Beach – a separate project funded last year by the WA Department of Transport’s (DoT) Coastal Adaptation and Protection (CAP) grants program. Transport and Planning Minister Rita Saffioti commented: “This is the first of four high priority coastal erosion projects to be completed and funded through the WA Recovery Plan and will make a big difference for Quinns Beach come winter.”
