The McGowan Government today announced a new $3 million education support centre will open at Burns Beach’s new primary school in time for the 2023 school year. 
The $3 million facility will be an important addition to the new primary school when it opens next year, providing specialist education for students with disability. ....

Boost for emergency services in local communities


McGowan Government delivers on election commitments for emergency services
Volunteer firefighters and SES crews in seven communities will benefit
$310,000 in funding will pay for items including new training equipment and facilities
The McGowan Government has provided a $310,000 boost to support the State’s emergency services volunteers.
The funding will benefit volunteer firefighters and State Emergency Service crews in areas to the north and east of Perth – Armadale, Burns Beach, Darling Range, Kalamunda, Maylands, Swan Hills and Wanneroo.
The groups will receive support ranging from training equipment and upgraded facilities, to outdoor amenities and marquees.
The funding includes:
$30,000 for a training pad upgrade at Kalamunda Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service; ....

Quinns Beach is better placed to handle storm events this winter, following the completion of a groyne upgrade to help prevent erosion and damage to roads and community infrastructure.
The upgraded groyne will assist in retaining the recently replenished sand on Quinns Beach – a separate project funded last year by the WA Department of Transport’s (DoT) Coastal Adaptation and Protection (CAP) grants program.
Transport and Planning Minister
Rita Saffioti commented: “This is the first of four high priority coastal erosion projects to be completed and funded through the WA Recovery Plan and will make a big difference for Quinns Beach come winter.” ....

McGowan Government committed $5 million to four high priority coastal erosion hotspots
Quinns Beach is better placed to handle storm events this winter, following the completion of a groyne upgrade to help prevent erosion and damage to roads and community infrastructure.
The project was identified as a high priority and $500,000 was allocated through the McGowan Government’s WA Recovery Plan last year.
The upgraded groyne will assist in retaining the recently replenished sand on Quinns Beach – a separate $150,000 project funded last year by the Department of Transport’s (DoT) Coastal Adaptation and Protection (CAP) grants program. ....
