They defaced artwork in what appears to be a racist way--for the second time this year. Students found this graffiti Saturday morning. X's were spray-painted over black faces on a mural.A student group painted the mural back in January after graffiti and posters from a white nationalist hate group called Patriot Front were found on campus. NKU's president Dr. Ashish Vaidya released a statement saying the university will fully investigate the act: NKU will not tolerate the white supremacy graffiti defacing our campus today or any day. This latest act of vandalism is contrary to our core values and our commitment to fostering a more equitable, inclusive environment in which everyone is valued and free from discrimination of any kind. We will fully investigate these acts through the university’s Bias Response Protocol Team and immediately evaluate and refortify the security of our public spaces to better protect our residents and the campus community. This includes increasing University Police nightly patrols.Vaidya said it's encouraged that students, staff, or the general public continue to report future incidents to the Office of Inclusive Excellence or NKU police.
