Lennox Head’s Rainbow Dragons have picked up second place in the women’s 20s team race at the recent Currumbin Dragon Boat Regatta, on the Gold Coast.
The regatta saw racing over 500 metres in women’s, mixed and open classes for small (10 people) and standard (20 people) crews.
Head coach Mary David said, ‘The racing against the Gold Coast Clubs is always strong and we can benchmark ourselves against younger teams.’
This year Rainbow Dragon crews achieved consistent firsts and seconds in their heats but the younger teams out-timed Rainbow Dragons for the finals. ‘Competitors complimented the club for maintaining their power for the entire 500 metres,’ said Mary David.
