Raising A Reader Massachusetts receives Library of Congress State Literacy Award COURTESY OF MASSACHUSETTS CENTER FOR THE BOOK Massachusetts Center for the Book announced that Raising A Reader Massachusetts is the recipient of the 2021 Library of Congress/Massachusetts State Literacy Award. Funding for the state literacy awards program, a growing component of the Library of Congress Literacy Awards, is made possible through the support of David M. Rubenstein, co-founder of The Carlyle Group and a major benefactor of our nation’s library. Working in Greater Boston and 10 Gateway Cities, Raising A Reader Massachusetts, RAR-MA, has used its intervention program to provide informative, safe and inclusive spaces for families and their young children to learn dialogic reading methods, the foundation of RAR-MA's program. Working with children between birth and age six, RAR-MA and its partners provide tools, tips, and resources to families from diverse backgrounds.
