In the same week the bailiffs arrived, Moth was diagnosed with a rare degenerative brain disease. Doctors gave him just two years to live. Homeless and with their future together rapidly shrinking, Raynor and Moth decided to walk the South West Coast path. They camped wild in all weathers and often didn't have enough money for food.
