A 63-year-old St. Catharines man faces multiple counts of terrorist hoax and uttering threats charges after suspicious letters were mailed to federal and provincial government offices, the RCMP said Friday. “You’ve Been Anthraxed,” was the inscription on a letter addressed to a federal government official which was opened by a staffer at a government office in Ottawa on April 29, the RCMP said in a release. A chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosives team was deployed in the police response — the bacteria Bacillus anthracis causes potentially-deadly disease — but field tests and further analysis showed nothing hazardous in the envelope, police said.
