Updated: 4:48 PM EDT May 6, 2021 WASHINGTON — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of more than 200,000 Kidde TruSense smoke alarms and combination smoke/carbon monoxide alarms due to a defect that could cause them to fail to alert consumers to a fire. The recall involves an estimated 226,000 units, the CPSC said. The affected units are Kidde Model Series 2040, 2050, 2060, and 2070 Smoke and Combination Smoke/Carbon Monoxide alarms, according to the CPSC. Only alarms with the TruSense logo or “AMBER=FAULT” printed on the front of the alarm are included in the recall, the CPSC said. The model number is printed on the back of the alarm.
