Facebook Share An announcement with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said that the hand sanitizer is contaminated with “burkholderia contaminans” which is “generally considered to be of low virulence,” the bacteria could get into the blood stream if a person has a wound on the hand, “especially in patients with compromised immune systems.”
