Perhaps it’s appropriate that Mental Health Awareness Month happens to coincide with what for many Parkites is a period of transition: We’re adjusting to loosened coronavirus restrictions and resuming some activities we abandoned when the disease started spreading last year. It’s a good time to check in on ourselves and one another and evaluate our mental health. If you find that you’re struggling, understand that you are not alone. The plain truth is that it’s been an extraordinarily difficult year for nearly everyone in Summit County and beyond. Our lives were turned upside down over the last 13 months, and for many people, each day presented new challenges. The ground seemed to shift repeatedly beneath our feet.
