Date Time Red tape reduction necessary to boost WA’s mineral exploration and job creation The Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia (CME) welcomes the State Government’s announcement to expand its red-tape reduction team, which will support the sector’s efforts to create more jobs for Western Australians. CME Chief Executive Paul Everingham said the allocation of funding for more than 150 frontline officers across five agencies will relieve pressure on WA’s booming resources sector by speeding up project approval times while safeguarding environmental and heritage outcomes. Mr Everingham said investment in exploration and efficient approval processes are critical to the mining sector, particularly during this current period of significant growth.
