CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Legislature’s Joint Committee on Redistricting continued its series of public hearings on new congressional and legislative boundaries with events Tuesday and Wednesday.
The committee is taking comments on what West Virginians want with new districts, which will be changed to reflect population shifts since the 2010 U.S. Census. The U.S. Census Bureau in February announced it will provide states with redistricting data by Sept. 30.
Committee members heard from the public during events at Tamarack in Beckley and the Summersville Arena and Conference Center.
