ANALYSIS: Several years – or arguably decades – after its intellectual heydey, the Government has introduced a new policy “implementation unit” modelled on something very similar used by Tony Blair’s New Labour Government in the UK.
Stuff broke the story on Tuesday that Minister of Finance Grant Robertson will be in charge of setting up the new unit within the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet to help the Government meet its priorities on infrastructure, child-wellbeing, climate change and housing affordability.
