Remembering a fine journalist and friend, Anne Heymen St. Augustine Record It was a great life The year 2020 ended with a horrible Christmas, COVID-19, cold weather, no elegant Midnight Masses and church services on Christmas Eve. But, worst of all, Anne Heymen went aloft! Anne had written her last column of “It’s a Great Life. Her cats How-ling and Cleopawtra have been adopted by a fellow cat lover. No more articles about searching for gifts purchased earlier and forgotten stashed away in closets, no more stories about You-Know-Who, or of trips to Cedar Key or Key West. The triangle of neighbors had kept vigil, managed all things, fed and played with the cats while Anne was in hospital, Bayview and hospital again. Jo, Rene, Vicki, Peter stayed with Anne until she left to be with God and You-Know-Who.
