The Porcupine Miners Memorial in Schumacher Lions Park is traditionally a gathering place for the annual Day of Mourning. However, this year, due to the ongoing pandemic, no ceremonies are planned at that location though that hasn't stopped government and local labour organizations to acknowledge the Day of Mourning (April 28), paying tribute to those who died on the job or developed work-related illness.
