The Porcupine Miners Memorial in Schumacher Lions Park is traditionally a gathering place for the annual Day of Mourning. However, this year, due to the ongoing pandemic, no ceremonies are planned at that location though that hasn t stopped government and local labour organizations to acknowledge the Day of Mourning (April 28), paying tribute to those who died on the job or developed work-related illness.
