Wicked Local As the area braces for a possible foot of snow on Thursday, Dec. 17, school superintendents have mulled new approaches to snow days in light of online learning options. A winter storm is expected to bring heavy snow, strong winds, coastal flooding and hazardous marine conditions late Wednesday night into Thursday, according to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency. Expected snow fall totals projected are 8-12 inches in Southeast Massachusetts. School districts in Massachusetts have the option of using remote learning rather than suspend all classes during snow days this year. However some superintendents including those in Easton and Mansfield say snow days will remain snow days.
