I feel something has to be done to raise awareness.” Essig said cyclists and pedestrians need space, particularly during the pandemic. Referencing bike shops with limited inventory, she said there are more and more cyclists using city roadways. “The pandemic also brings chances to rethink old patterns,” she said.
