梶山弘志経済産業相は２７日の閣議後会見で、米半導体大手のウエスタンデジタルがキオクシアホールディングス（旧東芝メモリホールディングス）との合併に向けて交渉を進めていると報じられたことについて、半導体の重要性は増しており「今後、動向を注視していきたい」と述べた。
