Revealed: firms shortlisted for £2.3bn Lower Thames Crossing Highways England has shortlisted three joint ventures to build the £2.3bn Lower Thames Crossing. The new road tunnel is planned to link Essex and Kent under the River Thames. The shortlisted firms are: BFV JV – comprising Bam Nuttall, Ferrovial Construction and Vinci Construction Grands Projets. Consultants Atkins, Tecnica y Proyectos (TYPSA) and Stantec UK are supporting the JV; BMJV – comprising Bouygues Travaux Publics and Murphy, supported by Mott McDonald and Arup; DHJV – comprising Dragados and Hochtief Infrastructure. The Lower Thames Crossing will double road capacity across the River Thames east of London, with 14.3 miles of new road featuring two 2.6 mile-long tunnels.
